What the program funds

Not just a screen. A school-wide platform for discovery.

The program is built around one coordinated AV Upgrade Set per participating school. It is not a school-wide equipment replacement. The system may serve a shared school space such as an auditorium, media center, multipurpose room or another suitable location. Equipment and costs vary according to the school, the room, existing infrastructure, procurement and the approved project scope.

The coordinated system delivered through this initiative is the Spaceposium Space-STEM Expo System™: one system in a suitable shared learning space, designed to support science instruction, live events, guest speakers, demonstrations, assemblies, student media, career exploration and Space-STEM programming.

The goal is a system a school can actually depend on: one room where the display is bright enough, the audio is intelligible, the connection is reliable, and staff know how to run it without calling for help. That reliability is what makes live programming, guest scientists, virtual field trips and student production schedulable rather than improvised.

These are preliminary planning configurations used for estimating and sponsor conversations. They are not fixed quotes, final prices or guaranteed equipment lists. Final scope follows the school, the room, existing infrastructure, procurement rules, vendor availability and the approved budget.

Level 1

Planning figures are for program development and sponsor conversations only. They are not quotations. Final system scope and cost are established only after room review, technical requirements, procurement, vendor pricing, installation requirements and an approved project budget.

The three levels are not three unrelated bills of material. Every configuration is built from the same modules, so a school can start where its room and budget allow and extend later without replacing the platform.

Scope and cost

Standardized planning architecture. Individualized final scope.

The three system levels give funders and districts a common vocabulary for planning. They are not a package price list. Equipment and costs are set project by project according to the school, the room, existing infrastructure, procurement and the approved project scope.

The room

Size, ceiling height, seating, sightlines, acoustics and ambient light all change what a shared space actually needs.

Existing infrastructure

Available power, network capability, mounting structure and existing cabling determine how much preparation work a project requires.

How the school will use it

A space used mainly for assemblies has different requirements than one used for daily instruction, broadcast or student production.

Procurement and local requirements

District purchasing rules, approved vendors, permitting and installation labor vary by location and affect both scope and cost.

The long-range goal

Spaceposium has set an aspirational long-range goal to help equip as many as 10,000 schools. This is a long-range objective, not a current reach claim, a projection, or a set of awarded projects. No school is enrolled, funded, or equipped until a project scope has been approved and completed.
