The Need

The future is arriving. Too many schools cannot fully connect to it.

Space science, live missions and data-rich learning are more accessible than at any point in history. But access depends on infrastructure that many schools simply do not have.
  • A shared space seats hundreds of students, but its display and sound cannot carry detail to the back rows.
  • Aging projectors, unreliable audio and improvised connections turn a guest speaker or a live session into a technical risk rather than an opportunity.
  • Where equipment does exist, it is often assembled piecemeal, leaving staff without a dependable system they can schedule around.
  • Students see space careers as something that happens elsewhere, to other people, because their school has no way to bring the work into the room.

The Solution

One upgrade can open an entire school to discovery.

A coordinated AV Upgrade Set turns a single shared space into the school’s window on the world: everyday instruction, assemblies, live missions, virtual field trips, demonstrations, student production and career exploration all run through the same dependable system.

The program is built around one coordinated AV Upgrade Set per participating school. It is not a school-wide equipment replacement. The system may serve a shared school space such as an auditorium, media center, multipurpose room or another suitable location. Equipment and costs vary according to the school, the room, existing infrastructure, procurement and the approved project scope.

The Long-Range Mission

An aspirational goal of as many as 10,000 schools.

Spaceposium has set an aspirational long-range goal to help equip as many as 10,000 schools. This is a long-range objective, not a current reach claim, a projection, or a set of awarded projects. No school is enrolled, funded, or equipped until a project scope has been approved and completed.

What the goal means

  • It is a direction, not a total. No school is counted until a project is approved, completed and documented.
  • It is one set per school. The program funds a coordinated AV Upgrade Set for a shared space, not a school-wide equipment replacement.
  • It is reported honestly. The Foundation publishes verified milestones instead of projected reach.
