This is a stated intention, not an operating program. No apprenticeship has been launched, no placements have been made, and no employer or training partnerships have been established. What follows is the pathway the Foundation intends to build as funding and school partnerships allow.
The concept
Skills that are needed everywhere, learned where students already are.
Audio, video, networking and live production are working trades. Schools that receive an AV Upgrade Set already have the equipment those trades use every day.
Video and display
Camera operation, switching, display calibration and preparing content that reads clearly at scale.
Networking and systems
The connectivity, streaming and control fundamentals that make a shared-space system dependable.
Live production
Planning, rehearsal, run-of-show discipline and the collaborative habits a live event demands.
The training environment
The school’s own system becomes the classroom.
Where a school has received a Spaceposium Space-STEM Expo System™ through the 10,000-School AV Upgrade Initiative, that installation could serve as the practical training environment for supervised student exposure to audio, video, networking and live production.
Working on real equipment, for real audiences, in a room the school depends on is what separates a genuine technical pathway from a demonstration. This remains an intention: no apprenticeship program, placement or employer partnership has been established.
What it would take
Requirements before any launch.
A credible apprenticeship program requires more than enthusiasm: supervised placements, appropriate safeguarding for minors, defined competencies, qualified mentors, insurance and the agreement of participating schools and districts. The Foundation will not announce a program until those conditions are met.
